This week we welcome Dr. Aaron Stauffer, Post Doctoral Fellow at Vanderbilt Divinity School. He explores the frames of mind we walk through the world looking through and how our viewing the world holds us back and keeps us separate from one another and from God.

Aaron shares with John and Nate a little about his growing up in small town Kansas and of his graduate work at Union Seminary in New York City and then connects us with a story of George Washington Woodbey, an East Tennessee man in the post Civil War era who exemplified what happens when people, according to Aaron, “seek out the true Holy Spirit which calls us to each other and the work of human liberation.”

This episode also contains the message he offered to East Brentwood Presbyterian Church (August 21, 2022).

Nate Strasser sings “Spirit, Spirit of Gentleness.”
