This week, we're bringing back one of our favorite previous episodes that has become more relevant than ever. It features two favorites: the famous story of King David dancing before the Ark of the Covenant (II Samuel 6:1-20) and the much beloved song “Lord of the Dance.”

A part of this famous story overlooks an important piece of information that leads to David dancing alone. This year has felt like we have all been dancing alone, missing out on joy and happiness.

John Hilley revisits this famous story and takes to heart Adam Grant’s insightful words that it is time for some “collective effervescence.”

What in the heck is collective effervescence? Described as the sense of energy and harmony people feel when they come together in a group around a shared purpose, it is the synchronicity you feel when you slide into rhythm with strangers on a dance floor, cousins at a religious service or teammates on a soccer field. It’s time to learn to dance again…together.

Thank you for joining us and here is Adam Grant’s article.
