Sheri has been with EBPC Preschool since 2002, and the director since 2006. She has a degree in secondary education, and taught history in high school. She has a master’s degree in psychology. She has worked on the psychiatric ward of a hospital, done child and family therapy, as well as psychological testing for both inpatient and outpatient programs. She feels that all of this diverse education experience has helped her understand family dynamics as well as how children learn and develop. She is originally from Mobile, Alabama. She has two children, Matt and Katie.
Susan Reiersen - Assistant Director
Susan, her husband Michael and their three small children moved to Nashville in 1990 from the Baltimore/Washington area. All of her children are now grown and on their own; Kristofer is a message therapist and restaurant manager and lives in Nolensville, Erik is a mechanical engineer and lives in Cincinnati, and Lauren is a registered nurse and lives in Nashville.
Susan worked at EBPC as the Office Manager from 1997 until 2010, then transferred to South Carolina for Michael's work. Shortly after their return in 2013, Susan returned to EBPC in the role of Bookkeeper and joined the Preschool as Assistant Director. In her spare time and when the weather warms, she is happy to be working in her vegetable garden and always enjoys cooking. She really enjoys working with the teachers and especially loves all of the precious little people that come to learn and explore at EBPC Preschool.
Our teaching team has many years of teaching either in the Williamson County school system or in a preschool setting. All of our teachers have a college degree. Whereas many of our teachers have degrees in education, many have degrees in other fields. What they all have in common are degrees in what we call “Motherhood 101”. It is very important that our teachers know child development from a firsthand knowledge of raising children. This knowledge allows the teachers to approach each child as an individual and thus help each child get the most out of their preschool years. We feel that the academic side of preschool is important, but more importantly, the social and emotional growth during the preschool years will help foster a respect for self and others as well as a love of school. As part of our Three Star rating every teacher is required to have 18 hours of additional training each year.
