This spring is an exciting one for our preschool. This May, we will be celebrating our 20th Anniversary and to celebrate we’ve rolled out a new name - East Brentwood Children’s Academy and a new website too (if you haven’t seen it yet, I encourage you to visit https://ebchildrensacademy.org).

There is another big celebration happening this spring that perhaps you have heard about: our beloved Sheri Vosel is retiring at the end of May after 17 years as the director of the preschool. Because we know she is dear to you, we want to invite you to participate in a fund to honor her legacy while meeting a need she has identified as important to our young children and their families.

  • Sheri Vosel Helping Families Fund

Near and dear to Sheri’s heart is helping young children succeed by providing speech and developmental assessment and subsequent therapies.  It has been Sheri’s experience over the years that hearing and speech issues negatively impact the educational and social development of the young child.  Hearing tests can cost up to $250 for families without insurance.   This ongoing fund is available to families associated with East Brentwood Children’s Academy and East Brentwood Presbyterian Church.  Our Goal:  $5,000. Click here for a form to fill out if you would like to mail a check into the office. CLICK HERE TO GIVE ONLINE - BE SURE TO NOTE THAT YOUR DONATION IS FOR THE SVHFF.

  • Scrapbook of Letters for Sheri

A scrapbook of letters and notes Sheri received over the years is being compiled by our Preschool Chapel teacher, Elizabeth Johnson, and she would love to include you in the project should you or your child wish to write Sheri a letter/note/drawing (any size paper is fine). Please mail or drop yours off at EBPC’s church office. Please write “Elizabeth Johnson” on the front of the envelope. Mailing address: Elizabeth Johnson, 9000 Concord Rd, Brentwood, TN 37027.

  • Sheri’s Garden

Sheri is a master gardener, so we think it is only appropriate to designate an area near the           side/carline entrance as “Sheri’s Garden.” The plan includes new landscaping, a stone bench, an        engraved marker with Sheri’s name, and a sundial.  On an upcoming school day, our current preschool students will paint small rocks to place in the garden, and we invite everyone to do the same! If you would like to participate in this project, please contact church member Lavona Russell at Lavona.Russell@gmail.com. You can also drop off a rock in the office.

Thank you for helping us make this a memorable time for such a wonderful, dedicated educator. Sheri has touched many families over the years, and we are beyond thankful for her.
