The Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) is comprised of parent volunteers who work in coordination with the Preschool's administration, teachers, and families to enhance the education of students by supporting programs and events, assisting teachers and staff, and fundraising. A membership fee is not charged. PTO meets monthly and is comprised of the following board positions and committees:
President - Manages monthly committee head meetings, coordinates schedule, supports other committee heads.
Cultural Awareness* - Arranges for guest speakers, either from preschool parents or community members, to speak on a particular culture or career.
Family Support - Coordinates meals or other types of support to the families of preschool staff/students during a significant event such as the birth of a child.
Preschool Playdates* - Organizes playgroups throughout the school year, allowing classmates to play outside of school and for parents to get to know one another.
Fundraising* - Manages fundraising efforts including t-shirt sales, Art Walk, and the Silent Auction to support Teacher Appreciation, the Capital Improvements Fund, and the Scholarship Fund for preschool families in financial need.
Library* - Collaborates with teachers, promotes early literacy skills, purchases new library materials, and maintains the library collection and catalog.
Parents' Coffee Hour - Organizes fun, monthly coffee hours held at EBPC Preschool after morning drop-off.
Teacher/Staff Appreciation* - Coordinates and delivers staff/teacher birthday gifts throughout the year and organizes Teacher Appreciation Week events in the Spring.
*These board positions are supported through the help of committee members.
