*Call to Worship

Here in this place,

light streams in and music rings out.

Here in this place,

friends are greeted and strangers are welcomed.

Here among these people

hands are held and concerns are shared.

Here among these people,

truth is spoken and promises are remembered.

Here in this moment,

grace is offered and hope is real.

Here in this moment, God is among us and we are at home.

*Opening Prayer

*Hymn #1 “Holy, Holy, Holy! Lord God Almighty!”

Call to Confession

Prayer of Confession

Gracious God,

forgive us when we know not what we are doing: when we are too distracted to notice someone in need

when we repeat generalizations that have been passed down to us

when we deny that prejudice and privilege are real.

Merciful God, forgive us

when we know exactly what we are doing:

when we judge our neighbors rather than love them

when we exclude someone because they are not like us

when we are too tired for the hard work of choosing life.

Loving God, forgive us and make us better than we have proven ourselves to be.

Time for Silent Reflection

Response “Trinity Song”

Holy Father, Son and Spirit

Holy communion, three in one

Come with your peace with your invitation

Bind us together in holy love

Assurance of Forgiveness

Friends, believe the good news.

In Jesus Christ, we are forgiven.

Passing of the Peace

The peace of Christ is with you!

And also with you.

*Gloria Patri #581

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son,

and to the Holy Ghost; as it was in the beginning,

is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen, amen.

Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our sins, as

we forgive those who sin against us; and lead us not into

temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom

and the power and the glory, forever. Amen.

About Today’s Service & Activities

Participants in Today’s Service: Pastor: John Hilley; Music Director: Nate Strasser; Musicians: the Choir; Elder of the Day: Brian McGuire.

This Week in Children's Worship: This week we celebrate Trinity Sunday by hearing the story of Isaiah's call to be God's helper. We will talk about ways we can be ready to be a helper to those around us, just like Isaiah! Help us refresh our worship bags - giving them a summer remix. Come choose a new book or two and add some exciting summer activities and art supplies to your worship bag!

Welcome to East Brentwood

To Our Members: East Brentwood gladly welcomes first-time and returning visitors. By introducing yourself and sharing a warm greeting, you express the hospitality of our congregation. Please share a smile and welcoming word to those around you.

To Our Guests: We offer education and fellowship opportunities in the mornings and evenings for children, youth and adults. Please see the calendar of events for dates and times. Be sure to complete a yellow contact card if you wish to receive future communications from EBPC.

East Brentwood Presbyterian Church is a community church made up of a loving, welcoming family of believers in honest conversation with God. We seek to emulate the ministry of Jesus through compassionate service, with stimulating and relevant exploration of God’s Word, and by sharing that Word and God’s many blessings with our neighbors in Middle Tennessee and around the world.
