*Call to Worship
We gather to remember
that grace is real and that hope can be trusted.
Here we encounter old stories of our tradition and new stories of transformation.
We gather to remember
that healing is possible and that faith is a gift.
Here we discover a community that holds us up and a Spirit that is always at work.
We gather to remember
where we belong and who will claim us.
Here we find a font full of ordinary water and a God who offers extraordinary love.
*Hymn #475 “Come, Thou Fount of Every Blessing”
Call to Confession
Prayer of Confession
Gracious God,
Your promises stand steady through all generations.
Encourage us when our faith falters.
It is easy for us to become overwhelmed;
our world is filled with violence,
our schedules are filled with chaos,
our hearts are filled with hurt.
Too often, we allow those stories to define our days.
Too often, we think we have to make our own way in this world.
Remind us that strength comes to us in community, that you are found in the people around us.
Remind us how much we are loved.
Time for Silent Reflection
Response “Trisagion” Ortega
Holy God. Holy and mighty.
Holy Immortal One, Have mercy, have mercy on us.
Assurance of Forgiveness
Friends, believe the good news.
In Jesus Christ, we are forgiven.
Passing of the Peace
The peace of Christ is with you!
And also with you.
*Response “Halle, Halle, Halle” 3x
Hal-le, hal-le, hal-le-lu-jah!

Thanksgiving Over Water
Welcome “Child of Blessing, Child of Promise”
Child of blessing, child of promise,
baptized with the Spirit’s sign,
with this water God has sealed you
unto love and grace divine.
Child of love, our love’s expression,
love’s creation, loved indeed!
Fresh from God, refresh our spirits;
into joy and laughter lead.

Time of Reflection
We Respond to the Word
Prayers of the People—Lord’s Prayer
Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name.
Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our sins, as
we forgive those who sin against us; and lead us not into
temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom
and the power and the glory, forever. Amen.

East Brentwood Presbyterian Church is a community church made up of a loving, welcoming family of believers in honest conversation with God. Ladies' Night at the Cheesecake Factory on Tuesday, May 15th from 6:30 pm to 8:30. We know this is a busy time but we would love to get together with our friends before school is out and summer begins. Feel free to drop-in when you can or leave early if needed. Please let Kristine Vasilevskis know if you will be able to make it. We'd love to save you a seat and toast to a great year and a safe summer! If you have any questions, contact Kristine Vasilevskis at (615)403-5713 or team5v@att.net.
We have a new EBPC Preschool Flier and video! In addition to our new preschool video that we debuted last week, we also have a new preschool flier promoting our wonderful program. Please take a look at this wonderful flier, and share it with any friends or family you know who might be looking for a preschool program. With our new video and flier, we are ready to share all the wonderful news about our preschool! Look for links to both in the eblast sent out on Friday.
“If I Was an EBPC Guest...”: As we are practicing good hospitality skills, sometimes it is a good idea to imagine what it is like to visit EBPC for the first time. The Hospitality and Membership Engagement Team would like for you to take the opportunity the next time you are at EBPC to see our building, our hospitality system and worship service through new eyes. Please download this survey, note your observations from the point of view of a visitor and return your form to Liz Beatty or drop it off in the church office. Thank you for your feedback.
