Evolving from a rich musical history, a worship service at EBPC features a variety of musical styles. On any Sunday, you may experience our choir sharing traditional or new hymns, our praise band performing contemporary popular songs, or guest vocalists or musicians from the local music industry scene sharing Southern spirituals, Celtic, bluegrass, classical, reggae, jazz, Americana, soul, or other musical genres. Our musical groups include an adult choir, a praise band, a handbell choir, a youth band and our Kids' Music and Drama Club. We enjoy sharing our musical talents outside of the church with local guest musicians at other venues such as The Well, a missional coffeehouse in Brentwood, and at our annual end-of-summer music festival, Music in the Grove.
Our Music Department is led by multi-genre pianist and composer Nate Strasser who also serves as staff pianist for the musical theater department at Belmont University. Nate's background as a musician began when he wrote his first composition as a four-year and was selected to perform at the International Music Workshops in Scotland four years later and in Austria when he was 10. After gaining a degree in jazz studies, and further studies in scoring for movies and television at USC, he is now a studio musician, songwriter, and arranger, as well as a soloist with performances ranging from the Washington Symphonic Orchestra to the main stage at the Heritage Port BluesFest. If you or your kids have music experience or just love to sign or play music, please join us. We are always looking for new voices or talents to add to our fun group of singers and musicians! If you are interested, please email email@example.com.
