Children's Ministry

Here at East Brentwood Presbyterian Church, we seek to nurture families by providing a compassionate and accepting environment so that children explore and develop a sense of wonder as they grow into creative thinkers and doers of Christ.

We offer opportunities for children birth to 5th grade to learn, explore, and make new friends each Sunday during worship! Click here to view our NEW Children's Ministry flier!

Time with Children

During the 10 a.m. worship service, children are invited to gather at the altar to hear a short message about the themes for the day in a fun, engaging manner.

EBPC “Pray”Ground

We know it is hard for little ones to sit still in worship, but at EBPC, we welcome regular opportunities for our full community of believers to join together – even if that means a few wiggles! We have created a space just for kids in worship called the EBPC “Pray”Ground. Found on the right-hand side of the sanctuary, the “Pray”Ground is stocked with appropriate activities for children of all ages. Worship kits for members and visitors, children’s bulletins, and a variety of children’s Bibles line the shelves. For our littlest friends, board books and stuffed animals are also available.

Children’s Worship

Children’s Worship helps children ages 3 through 2nd grade explore Bible units through hands on, age appropriate, experiential activities that are designed to engage them while also instilling faith formation. We meet upstairs every Sunday during the 10 a.m. worship service following the Time with Children. If this is your child’s first visit, please fill out our Children’s Ministry Registration Card so we can get to know your child. You may pick up your children upstairs after the service or visit us any time.

UPWARDS is a Faith formation class for students 3rd – 5th grade. Our curriculum allows upper elementary children the opportunity to explore Bible lessons in a new way as they seek to know God and see themselves as part of His big story of love and light. Using art, drama, journaling, and games, Upwards offers a new adventure each Sunday. We meet every Sunday during the 10 a.m. worship service following the Time with Children.

The goal of the infant-toddler ministry is to provide a loving, nurturing, secure environment for our infants and toddlers, giving them the opportunity to express themselves in a Christian atmosphere. Care for children under the age of three years old is available in the Nursery on Sundays from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. and occasionally for special church events. Should you have questions, please contact Elizabeth Johnson at or 919-724-0976.

EBPC Kids Music and Drama Club

Does your child like to hum along with songs or have a flair for the dramatic? Interested in having your child learn from an accomplished Hollywood musician? Well… we've got the club for you! Our EBPC Kids' Music and Drama Club is designed for children 3 years thru 5th grade (Members of the Youth Group are invited to join us as assistants!). EBPC Music Director Nate Strasser will teach children about music in a fun and engaging way and children who participate in the club will have a part in church worship services like Easter, Mother's Day, and Christmas!

EBPC Kids on a Mission

Children learn best by “doing”, and at EBPC we seek to become “doers” of Christ. Through our partnership with Glenview Elementary School in Nashville, our children have opportunities to serve their neighbors and make connections with other children. From collecting school supplies, assisting with a Fall Festival, and participating in a work day on campus, our children learn that living out our calling to help others can be both fun and rewarding!

Young Families Fellowship and Programming

Throughout the year our families with young children have numerous opportunities to join together for fun and fellowship. Each month, we gather for a meal or a fun outing to strengthen the bonds of friendship among children and parents. Past activities have including bowling, pool parties, potluck lunches, Fall Festival, Advent and Lenten workshops, and more!
