About Worship at EBPC
East Brentwood Presbyterian Church is a community church made up of a loving, welcoming family of believers in honest conversation with God. We seek to emulate the ministry of Jesus through compassionate service, with stimulating and relevant exploration of God’s Word, and by sharing that Word and God’s many blessings with our neighbors in Middle Tennessee and around the world.
EBPC is a dynamic Christian community that gladly invites all people into a transformational experience of faith, boldly proclaims the Gospel, seeks to live out the Gospel in mission and service, and nurtures the lives of young and old.
The vision for EBPC, a church of the Presbyterian Church (USA), began when the Presbytery of Middle TN’s New Church Development Committee identified the area of Brentwood east of I-65 as a top priority area. In March 1988, the Rev. Dan Sanders-Wooley was called as the organizing pastor, and our first worship service was held July 17, 1988 at the Brentwood YMCA with 92 in attendance. Experiencing fast growth because of our commitment to Christian Education and our ability to appeal to families new to the area, the church built and occupied in 1992 its current energy-efficient, brick building at the corner of Wilson Pike and Concord Road.
Our flexible worship and educational space allow for a variety of ministries, including our three-star rated preschool. A variety of events from our active youth and music programs to our Senior Adults and Presbyterian Women and from our partnerships with Boy Scout Troop 86 and Indian dance and Hindi language organizations fill our weekly calendar.
Our steeple, appearing more like a lighthouse than a traditional church steeple, reflects the way in which our hospitable, vibrant church community welcomes long-time neighbors and transient families who have recently relocated to the Brentwood area.
We invite you to visit us at 10 a.m. Sunday!
